We hope your dancing shoes can wait a little longer; we're postponing our wedding until August 14, 2021. When it comes right down to it, a marriage is a commitment of two people, and a wedding is a party that can be rescheduled, so that is the route we have decided to take. We are still utterly in love and will be getting married on our original date, but it is important to us that everyone stays safe. We're waiting to celebrate until after the coronavirus crisis has passed.
One night in late March 2017, Allison came across a cute looking guy with two big Saint Bernards as his profile picture on Bumble. She flipped through the rest of the pictures and decided to take a chance and swipe right. "It's a Match!" immediately popped up on the screen. Taking a leap of faith, she messaged Tommy and said, "your dogs are cute!" He sent back, "you're cute". A few dates later and the rest is history!
On May 2, 2019, Tommy texted me and asked if I wanted to go to the Jeni's walk-up window in the German Village district of Columbus, OH. I assumed this was a normal Thursday night date, but little did I know, Tommy had other ideas. When he got home from work, I noticed he seemed to be a little on edge, but assumed he had a stressful day at work. He told me not to change into sweats and to stay in the dress I had worn to work. This was weird... why would he want me to stay dressed up for a simple ice cream date? Once we had ordered our ice cream, Tommy suggested we go for a walk around Schiller Park. This is when I realized there was a chance he was going to propose. As we were walking, I thought I knew the exact moment it was going to happen. He told me how much he loved me and I nervously said "thanks". We both cracked up and still talk about this horrible response. We kept walking and I started to think I was wrong and misjudged the situation, when suddenly he was down on one knee asking if I would marry him. That was the easiest yes of my entire life.
