Allison and Nick first met on the dating apps in 2020 during the throes of COVID-19. Nick was drawn to the photo of Allison outside of the Wrigley field and thought how great it was to share a common interest in baseball (lol). Allison had just come back to the states from Spain to start her doctorate program when she came across Nick’s profile, and was intrigued by the “Minnesota boy turned Colorado Transplant” aesthetic. After a few days of friendly banter on the app, they decided to exchange numbers and meet at Denver Beer Co. for their first date. After a few hours of conversation over a couple of beers, they both knew this was something special. Even though some of the shared interests didn’t quite match (*cough* sports), there was a lot they had in common. On that first date, they bonded over their shared love of travel and adventure, live music, and their Midwest upbringings. Seven months later, they boarded a plane together for their first vacation visiting a new place. Sharing the experience together served as the highlight and the beginning of many other adventures together. They've since explored many new places together, a highlight being a trip to Spain where Allison got to introduce her favorite place in the world to Nick - Donostia-San Sebastian. Allison loved watching Nick fall in love with the place she used to live and loves dearly and get to know many of her amazing friends there. Another standout trip was when Nick joined Allison at the national school psychologist conference in New Orleans where he surprised her with a proposal on the beautiful streets of New Orleans after spending their evenings listening to live jazz. Apart from sharing travel adventures, they've experienced many adventures right here at home in Denver, Colorado. Early in their relationship, Nick was brave (and patient) enough to take Allison out on the mountains to share his love of snowboarding with her (She had only been skiing one other time). Since then, they've gone skiing and snowboarding together numerous times. They also like to spending time in the mountains during the warmer months hiking and camping. Aside from the adventurous hobbies, they've also shared multiple moves, welcomed their Portuguese Water Dog, Ollie, into the family, and recently became homeowners. Through sharing many adventures and milestones together, they have truly gotten to know each other and have continued to grow their love for one another. They are so excited for this next adventure where they say, “I Do” and look forward to celebrating with you all!
