We met in the auditorium of the old high school during an audition for jazz band. Allison was extremely nervous for the audition and found comfort in a friendly face. After the audition Michael and Allison did not see each other again until band camp and that is where this fairytale really took off.

Allison had just returned home from a vacation with her family from Walt Disney World and was supposed to go to dinner with Michael out of town. The weather was really bad so Michael had arranged for reservations at the nicest restaurant in DeKalb. After dinner Michael promised Allison that they could watch the Polar Express because it is her favorite Christmas movie. When they both returned to Michael's parents' house to watch the movie they went upstairs and beautiful rose petals were all over the room with a rose heart on the wall. Allison was so focused on watching the show that she missed the ring box on the table until she turned around and Michael was down on one knee.
