In early 2021, Matt was visiting friends and planning his move back to Madison from Dallas, TX. During this trip while looking for an apartment, he matched with Allison on the dating app, Hinge. Even though Matt told Allison he wouldn't be moving back until August, they felt a strong sense of God's will and plan to date long distance for this season. Even though this season of their relationship was primarily over Facetime, they are still do this day very grateful to have a season of intentional conversations which built a strong foundation of God at the center of their relationship. After a couple of trips to see each other, a few virtual cookie-baking dates and an unexpected flood in Matt's apartment brought him back to Madison in May 2021, much sooner than he was originally planning. This was just another example of God's timing in their relationship.
After spending a year together, enjoying walks, hikes, paddleboarding, local restaurants and breweries, meeting each other's friends and family and establishing a community at Door Creek Church, we felt it was God's will for us to pursue engagement. To Matt's luck, March 16th turned out to be one of those rare, 70-degree spring days which set up for a picture-perfect Proposal at one of their favorite places to walk, Tenney Park.
Another example of God's timing and sense of humor! They were not expecting two big life events to happen in the same week, but are very thankful for those answered prayers. They have been busy sanding, painting, and making their home uniquely theirs. They're excited to make more memories in their home together once Matt moves in after the big wedding day!
