See where Martyn proposed - fortunately without snow this time of year! 2+ hours away - a long but doable day trip - can drive to the views and/or do several different length hikes from the parking area. Reach out if you want specific hike recommendations - we've done tons in the area!
You can recreate our engagement photos - ask us for the secret spots!! Can hike or drive to the top. Only 15 minutes from the venue.
One of our favorite local breweries - wild ferments, Belgians, sours!
10 minutes from the venue! Will need a Discover Pass ($10 for one day). The Sunday park hangout will be within the park, so this could be a good day to explore with your day pass.
Oyster Bar on the beach, also near many beautiful hikes in the more local Chuckanut Mountains. Popular with first come first serve seating. Limited parking, so recommend carpooling - more information on the website. FYI slightly windy road, but paved and doable in any car.
If you are staying longer, this is a great ferry trip for one or multiple nights, right from Anacortes. Ferry trips would need to be made in advance this time of year! You can stay in the cute town of Friday Harbor on San Juan Island for many cute shops and restaurants. Orcas Island is smaller, but has more kayaking and hiking.
Several options for whale watching tours from Anacortes or San Juan Islands!
Farm stand with produce and ice cream on your way through the Skagit Valley - worth a stop!
Some favorites from short to long (all along highway 20, some in the national park and some in the national forest): Diablo Lake Vista Point, Baker Lake shore path, Blue Lake, Heather-Maple Pass, Cutthroat Pass (favorite)
Local tour company for hiking/national park tours - day trips and multiday, can rent boots, gear, etc.
If you stay in Seattle for part of your trip, check out the Ballard Locks and Fish Ladder (there are sometimes salmon this time of year).
A classic if you are staying in Seattle for part of the trip.
