FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Our ceremony will take place outdoors at Allison’s family lakeside Huvila—the Finnish word for summer home—a place woven with memory and meaning. Beneath a canopy of trees and on firm earth by the water’s edge, we’ll exchange our vows. A formal indoor reception will follow to continue the celebration. As the night deepens, we’ll return to the Huvila for an after-party by the lake, where the sauna will be warm and the waters welcoming. Feel free to bring a swimsuit and something cozy, as we end the day with a beloved family tradition under the stars.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Please join us back at The Huvila after the reception for a beloved Laakko family tradition: A traditional Finnish sauna + lake swim Bonfire, Drinks, Late-night bites Bring a swimsuit, a towel, and something cozy to change into — it’s the perfect way to close out the night, unwind, and celebrate together.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Having you all in a place our hearts call home to celebrate and share in our love story is truly all the gift we need. However, for those who feel moved to give, we will be gratefully accepting donations in honor of Allison’s father, Michael Laakko, to two causes close to our hearts: The American Cancer Society The Wounded Warrior Project These organizations represent the strength, compassion, and legacy Michael embodied, and supporting them means so much to us. With love and gratitude, Allison & Josh
