She often enjoyed craft activities and painting, even painting butterflies on the walls of her childhood bedroom. Allison graduated from Trenton High School in 2014 and moved to Boca Raton for college. Allison completed her BA in Psychology at Florida Atlantic University in 2017 and moved back home shortly after. Since then she has worked a few jobs in social service fields and is currently a Victim Advocate Counselor for sexual assault program in Gainesville. Joseph Scott Jr. was born to Melanie and Joseph Scott in Seattle, Washington on April 11th, 1993. Joseph is the middle child of 3 children and often referred to as Joe, Joe-Joe and JJ by friends and family. Joe lived his early years of life in Seattle, having winter snow days and summer drizzles. When Joe was 9 years old, him and his family moved cross-country to his fathers hometown of Hawthorne, Fl. From a young age Joe had a love for music playing Baritone in his school marching band from 6th grade till he was a Senior. Joe graduated from Interlachen High School in 2011 and continued to expand on his musical abilities. Joe attended Full Sail University getting a certificate in music engineering capable of creating his own soundtracks. Currently Joe is a licensed Pharmacy Technician for Shands UF Health working in the PICU. Music has remained a hobby of his as he continues to make music in his free time. Joe's other hobbies include playing video games, board games and quality family time.
Allison and Joe met in Downtown Gainesville where they had their first date at Palominos pool hall. From then on they quickly began hanging out on a regular basis, Allison stopping by his house after work daily and building a strong friendship. In December, shortly before Christmas, Joe asked Allison to be exclusive and they shared their first Christmas together. On January 20th, 2020 they moved in together (and with Joe's dog Duncan) to a 2 bedroom apartment in Arbor Park.
The day Joe asked Allison to be his wife forever, began with a romantic adventure to Blue Springs State Park in Orange City, Fl. Joe and Allison toured the springs and saw a large variety of wildlife including over 200 manatees trying to remain warm in the fresh spring water. Joe didn't get the opportunity at their first location that morning to "pop the question" and so the day continued. They went to lunch in Orlando at a pizza place they had been longing to try and still Joe waited for the perfect timing. Next they drove to Downtown Disney Springs, Joe was carrying the ring in his pocket and the metal detectors to enter the plaza went off. Joe was nervous and had to empty his pockets to the security guards. Luckily, Allison was standing off to the side and didn't see him. Disney springs turned out to be extremely crowded and not the intimate setting Joe was hoping for. Lastly while driving through the Disney area they came to a resort with sky trams as public transportation from park to park. Joe asked the gatekeeper at the resort if we could park and ride the sky trams, and he let them go in for free. At that same time the sun was beginning to set and allowed for a perfect mood. Joe and Allison boarded a sky tram in the direction of the sun set and was able to catch a beautiful view in a solo tram. Moments before, Allison took a photo (viewable on "Our Journey" tab) of the couple and Joe became overwhelmed with courage. Joe asked Allison to Marry Him with the sun setting in the background and she said YES!
Allison and Joe have big plans for the next chapter of their lives. Most recently they are working towards buying a home to settle within the surrounding Gainesville area. They plan to have enough space to grow and start a family of their own.
