In early October, temperature highs are in the mid-60s, and lows in the low-50s. So average temps may swing between 55-60 degrees. Layers are always a great option, especially as the sun goes down! Ladies wearing sun dresses may want to bring a cardigan or jacket for later in the night, and men may want to wear a suit jacket for later. If you are enjoying the outdoors before or after the wedding, remember that the higher you go in elevation, the cooler it gets, and changes in weather happen often and quickly, so be prepared!
If you are coming from sea level, altitude sickness is a real thing here! Salida sits at just over 7,000 feet in elevation. Make sure to hydrate and keep hydrating often before you arrive, and within the first 24-48 hours upon arrival. Dramamine and ibuprofen are great options if you start to feel a headache or nausea coming on. Make sure to rest and don't participate in very strenuous activities right away, give yourself a few days to acclimate! Also remember that one alcoholic drink at altitude is equivalent to two alcoholic drinks at sea level.
We share for a great love for kids, but also recognize that parents getting a night off to enjoy themselves is also important. Therefore, we are not having kids at the wedding itself, but kids are very welcome to join our Welcome Event on Friday night (please be aware there will be live music and dancing at the brewery, so it will be loud), and our Sunday brunch. There are many local babysitting options in Salida. If you are interested in looking into those the day of the wedding, let us know!
