Allison and I first met at our mutual friend's 21st birthday party. Allison obviously liked me, and I liked her; but, I wasn’t sure I wanted to get involved with a girl from St.Louis right before moving to Kansas City. So anyway, I took her on a date to this small golf course bar on the outside of town and was able to meet her dog Nova and accidentally fell in love. When I was finally brave enough to propose, I knew that no matter what I did I wouldn’t be able to catch her off guard with the proposal itself. Because of this, I asked both of our families to come to Loose Park in Kansas City to surprise her right after I popped the very obvious question. (She wouldn't even let me finish “Will you marry me?”) and I’m pretty sure it worked. Allison and I are looking forward to traveling to different parts of the world and trying all of the food we want. We are also excited about having 2 kids and 6 dogs plus some foster animals. Lastly, we are both so excited for our wedding day. I know this has been something Allison has been looking forward to since before we even met, and I’m so happy that I’m the person she chose to spend it with.

Harlan and I met at my long time friend Grace's 21st birthday in September of 2020 in Warrensburg, Missouri. The party was at Harlan's house since Grace and her then boyfriend (now fiancé!) were residence hall directors and could not have alcohol in their rooms. We talked throughout the night and celebrated Grace's birthday. We hung out as friends until February of 2021 when we went on our first date! Harlan took me to the Warrensburg Country Club for dinner and then had us walk on a frozen lake. Since then we have both moved to Kansas City, graduated from school, gone on a few trips, raised our dog Bourbon, watched Chiefs games, enjoyed cooking together, and gone on a lot more dates! We have really loved getting to spend time with our family and friends these past few years. Harlan proposed in September of 2024, and of course, I said yes!
