We officially met our freshman year of college, an unlikely time for love to begin, in the middle of a pandemic when the world felt uncertain and everything was changing. But even in that season, we found something steady and beautiful in each other. From the start, our connection felt natural, rooted in shared values, easy laughter, and a faith that guides us both. Ethan went to college first in Green Bay then to Oshkosh and Allison was at Winona in Minnesota, which meant spending the next four years in a long-distance relationship. While miles stretched between us, we learned how to grow in independence, how to communicate deeply, and how to build a relationship on trust and commitment. We drove countless hours, and put more miles on our cars than we can count, just to see each other in person. Every visit was a reminder that love is worth the effort, and every goodbye was a promise that the distance was only temporary. Along the way, we built our own rhythm. We explored new places together, went to many Packers games, spent time at the gym and filled our nights with playing games. We spent time with the people who matter most, our family and friends, and discovered that those connections made our love even stronger. Most importantly, we have brought out the best in each other. Through the years in different states, we found our own independence while also learning the joy of sharing life with someone who understands our heart. Our story is one of faith, resilience and a love that only grows deeper over time. Ethan proposed at his family’s lakehouse and completely surprised Allison. Both family’s were there to celebrate the exciting news! It was the perfect engagement. We are so excited to celebrate our love with all our favorite people.
