Engagement

June 05, 2021

On the first day actually arriving at Ocean City, MD for our beach vacation, we did all of the normal “vacation prep” tasks like clean the condo, bring in our luggage, grocery shop, etc. Later that evening, Adam walked us hand in hand down to the beach at sunset. Let me paint the picture for ya. I had just showered and I put on an old T Shirt that the majority of the screen print image was flaking and disintegrating off, exercise shorts, and white Walmart brand crocs. Plus, I had on my huge face covering purple sunglasses (shown on the Photos tab- Pittsburgh Zoo entrance picture). So needless to say I looked like I had just rolled out of a hole somewhere. He took me out to the beach behind the hotel beside our condo. Now the months leading up to June, Adam would pluck me a flower from outside from on his way home from work. He asked me if I remembered him giving those flowers to me and I told him that I did. Well, he said that he got me a flower that wouldn’t die. He got down on one knee and I started screaming and jumping up and down on the sand. I screamed OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!! YES YES YES YES!!! I managed to scare multiple people around us on the beach with my shenanigans. I held out my hand and he slipped on the ring before he stood back up. I was shaking so bad with excitement, I couldn’t believe it. I called my momma first thing and she had known it was going to happen. Adam asked her permission to marry me before we left for the beach. I screamed so loud that I never actually heard him ask me on the beach. I asked him the next day in our condo if he would ask me again so I could hear him. I slid off my ring & instead of just asking me again standing up, he got down on one knee and asked me again right there in our condo living room. This time, I said, and not screamed yes! I screamed so loud that my throat hurt for 3 days! So worth it though!
