Allison was visiting in Idaho, but her mother (Melissa) had other ideas on her mind. She wanted to convince Allison to move from California and told her she should try a dating website. Allison had never given much thought to the idea, but decided "What could it hurt?". Allison stumbled on Daniel's Hinge profile and saw that he was fun, adventurous, and incredibly honest about what he was seeking, and Daniel thought "Wow, she's cute and she wears fanny packs!", and that was how it began. One simple message about a fanny pack led to a series of phone calls and texts until Allison visited Idaho again in a few weeks. The first date was spent at the Kuna caves. Literally, old lava tubes in the middle of nowhere. Allison shared her location with several people and begged Daniel not to be a serial killer. They survived, went to lunch, and enjoyed their day so much that Daniel called out of work to spend the rest of the day with her. Allison planned to go home a few days later, but Daniel decided to invite her on a family camping trip. Once again, she thought "why not" and spent three days in the mountains enjoying him, his wonderful family, and the scenery, despite not having access to a shower (lol). A few months later, Daniel flew out to Cali to drive the U-Haul back to Idaho and they have been inseparable ever since. It was quite a whirlwind but it has been filled with so much laughter and they quickly realized they had been searching for each other in all the wrong places. Allison and Daniel are so thankful that God led them to each other, because through Him they found everything they have been searching for.

That family vacation Daniel invited Allison to turned out to be quite a staple in their lives. It was day three of camping in the mountains. Allison woke up a bit cranky that morning, and Daniel decided to take her in the side-by-side through the mountains to see if she could remember any of the spots they had been to the year before. They reached a place called "Dynamite Corner" and Allison got super excited so Daniel pulled over. Allison began walking through the mountain and Daniel tried to follow but realized he wouldn't be able to get down on one knee with the limited space, so he coaxed her back to the flat ground. She had her back turned when he said. "Well, you've been waiting for a while.." Allison reached back and said, "Don't even play with me right now". It took Daniel pinching her butt a few times and finally saying, "will you please turn around" till Allison finally did. She realized he was down on one knee, holding a ring, and completely blacked out as he said, "I love you so much and want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" Allison laughed and cried and Daniel was pretty confused but he got his answer when Allison began hugging and kissing him. The answer was and always will be "yes".
