We met through mutual friends in high school—Allison was a junior and Chase was a senior. We even started out in the same math class, though it wasn’t until a few months later, while spending time with our friends, that we really got to know each other. After hanging out on our own a few times, it was clear there was something special. On January 4th, 2018, we officially became boyfriend and girlfriend—and the rest is history.

After high school, Chase and Allison both went to OU for undergrad, before Allison headed to the University of Akron for grad school. Over the years, we spent some time doing long distance, counting down the days until our next visit and making the most of every moment together. Today, Chase works as an Area Sales Manager for Porta Kleen, and Allison is a Speech-Language Pathologist at Nationwide Children’s. In May 2025, we moved into our first apartment together and have been loving this new chapter—settling into everyday life, making new memories, and enjoying being under the same roof.

It was a regular Sunday afternoon with plans for a walk and grocery shopping—nothing out of the ordinary. Chase was a little more decisive than usual, especially when he suggested Allison change out of her bright yellow sweatshirt, but she didn’t think much of it. We headed to Quarry Trails Metro Park for a walk, and midway through, stopped to sit on a swing overlooking the water. Chase stood up saying he needed to use the bathroom, and a few moments later Allison turned around to see him down on one knee. Following the proposal, we headed to Chase’s sister’s house—where both of our families and close friends were waiting to surprise us and celebrate.
