Our love story begins way back in the summer of 2017. At this time, Cade was a Junior in high-school, and I was a sophomore. Following a summer league basketball game, there was a group of us that were meeting at Gilles Frozen Custard. This is where Cade and I first met, and exchanged some playful banter. Soon enough, the night was coming to an end, and Cade happened to be catching a ride home from the same friend that I rode to the game with. While dropping Cade off, we were invited inside where Cade challenged me to a friendly game of ping pong… let the record show that I won this matchup! As sly as he was back then, Cade used this opportunity to text me the following week… asking for a rematch. But it wasn't until my birthday, after one of my volleyball matches, that we had our first official date. That night, at Backyard Restaurant, we talked until we were the only ones left in the restaurant, and the lights began to turn off. From the very beginning, I was completely convinced that this was the start of something that would be once in a lifetime. In the following months, we spent hours talking in Abe (Cade’s car) following our volleyball/football games, and went out often on ice cream runs. On the weekends, we watched tons of football together, and during school hours, you could find Cade and I talking by my locker during the passing period. Unfolding before my eyes was the classic high school sweetheart love story- but our story is not as traditional as it began. Fast forward to summer 2019. At this point in time, Cade and I had separated for the second time, and Cade and I had not spoken to each other all summer. Although we were apart, Cade and I both value this time in our lives as it allowed us to grow as individuals before the second part of our love story began. On the night of August 24th, 2019, our love story did just that.... Cade was at a graduation party for a friend, and I was at a different graduation party. I received a text from Cade that evening where he asked to see me. I was hesitant at first, and even told him “no” a time or two. But, as we all know, I had (and still have) a soft spot in my heart for him, and eventually I agreed to drive him and his friends home that night from the graduation party. I dropped Cade off last that night where he then invited me inside to talk. The rest was history as we decided to give it one last try- for good this time. That next morning, Cade left for Minnesota for college. Thanks to my mom and Grandma, who always knew how special Cade and I’s love was, I was able to visit Cade in Minnesota a month after he moved away. We spent hours on the phone or on FaceTime in between visits, and eventually, Cade made it official on Christmas of 2019. We spent a few more years doing long distance, and never took our time together for granted. Since 2019, we have traveled to 8 US states together, played multiple rounds of cribbage, watched hours of Badger and Packer football and have gone on more Friday Night Fish Fry dates than I could count. Now that we are both living in the same city, Cade will take any chance he gets to bring me along on a round of golf, or a tractor ride- and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Our journey to today is not a typical one, and some could argue that it is chaotic, but I suppose that is what young love is. Cade and I put a lot of faith and work into this relationship so that we can stand in front of you all on September 6th, 2025 and say “I do”. We feel so blessed for all of our family and friends who have stood by us on this journey and believed in our love. We cannot wait to spend our big day with you all, as we have waited many years for this day to come… get your dancing shoes ready- let's celebrate!
