Denver International Airport (DEN) : It’s an hour and a half drive to Breckenridge.
If you do not have a car, or don’t want to drive around town the whole trip in your car Breckenridge offers a Main Street Trolley and the FreeRide bus offers free rides throughout the day. If you are lodging outside of downtown Breck area, Summit Stage is also a free county-wide bus system available throughout Summit county. Uber, Lyft, and Taxi’s are also available.
1. HYDRATE- try to drink twice as much water as you would at home. (2-3 liters of water per day before your trip) altitude sickness symptoms can be avoided. 2. TAKE IT EASY- let your body acclimate on day 1 and 2 If possible. 3. MATCH WITH H20- alcohol and caffeine slow down the body’s ability to acclimate at elevation. Try to match every caffeinated/ alcohol drink with a water or electrolyte beverage to stay hydrated.
We would like everyone to dress however comfortable they are in the cold snowy winter of Breckenridge. Layers, big coats, and snow boots are recommended.
