How We Met Allison and Ryan’s story began the summer of 2016 in Omaha, Nebraska. Pretty remarkable considering Allison is from California and Ryan is from Hawai'i. They found their way to the Midwest through attending Creighton’s School of Pharmacy. Allison noticed Ryan first and thought he was the most handsome guy in class. One of her first friends at Creighton, Char, was also from Hawai'i, so Allison dragged her with her one day to go sit next to Ryan in class to introduce herself. Ryan was shy and nervous yet interested in keeping the conversation flowing with this new gorgeous girl that sat beside him. After becoming close friends, Allison and Ryan started dating in May 2017. A Few Adventures During the span of the next five years, they went on many adventures together. 2020 was a big year for everyone, but especially for Ryan and Allison. Allison spent three months living in Hawai'i with Ryan and his Dad during the pandemic. They then both graduated from Pharmacy School and celebrated in Hawai'i. Following graduation, they made the big move to Denver, Colorado where Allison matched for residency and their fur-baby, Elsie, immediately joined the family. Funnily enough, Ryan had always said he would never live in Colorado, but he loved it so much that they decided to stay and they bought their first home together in April 2022. This was also a big year because four months after buying the house, Ryan proposed! The Proposal On the morning of August 2, 2022 Ryan woke Allison up early to take Elsie on one last hike before leaving for a two week Hawai'i vacation. Allison was tired after working the previous night and spending the rest of the night packing for the trip. Ryan made the drive while Allison napped until they arrived at Officers Gulch Trail near Breckenridge Colorado. Ryan’s friend, Kyle, had met them there to “try out a new camera body”. They made the hike up into the trees then back and around the crystal clear lake. Allison was occupied throwing sticks for Elsie when Ryan and Kyle were able to get into position. It just so happened at that moment, a bee buzzed by Allison’s face, causing her to flail her arms and spin right around into Ryan who was there on one knee and Kyle was knee deep in freezing water with his shoes on to capture the moment. Stunned with fear, shock, and excitement, Allison said, “Yes!” Cheers! After seven years together, we absolutely cannot wait to celebrate with you all - our closest family and friends!
