3 days left...

We met at Thanksgiving Point during Halloween when Cornbelly's was going on. We were in separate groups that joined together in the maze to figure out how to escape. Allison vaguely remembers meeting. We just introduced ourselves and that was it. (or so we thought)

After Allison's family left back to Idaho, it was time to get a job. Allison had been subbing but now she started going full time. She ended up subbing at the same elementary school I work at! She saw me in the lunch room and waved. We got to talking and then she continues subbing there for the next couple days. We made a connection and started becoming friends. That was also when I realized how cute she was and started developing a crush. Random fact: We also tried a grasshopper- they are so gross and bitter.

I previously had mentioned I like to bake so naturally, Kaden asks if I want to make macaroons sometime. I say yes and warn him that macaroons are no small feat. My friend Sam is letting me know the whole time I'm getting ready that, "this is a date." I finish getting ready and Kaden picks me up. We go to the store to pick up some things because that's how Kaden rolls, getting all his stuff right before - we have very different baking styles. We get to his house and get to work. There are a few hiccups along the way but we make it through and make some decent macaroons!

I passed the macaroon making so Kaden decided to ask me out but not say he was asking me out. He asked to hang out at Fat Cats to go mini golfing. I said sure and happened to do my makeup from an event earlier in the day. We got to Fat Cats and, no joke, mini golfing took 10 minutes- even with me taking 4 putts per hole. Thank goodness we were at Fat Cats where there are lots of options of games. We played many games and got two Diamond Mines. We got some pizza and then got to work on our mines. We ended up getting a red jasper and sodalite and naming them red and blue. Kaden and I ended up talking for 3 hours about life and how we see our futures and just so much. I remember thinking how crazy it was that I opened up so much to this guy I barely knew.

We became official just 6 days before I left on a big trip. We had our first kiss the day I left and I remember feeling awkward but getting butterflies. Then we did "long distance" from 12/15- 1/7. He picked me up at the airport and we've been pretty much inseparable since.

He proposed at a lantern festival and surprised me. There was no thought in my head that this was the moment. It was so sweet. We are each others best friends and we are so excited for November to come so we can begin our lives together and get sealed to spend eternity with one another.
