Travel Note
Rangeley is a beautiful town located in the Northwestern mountains of Maine. Unfortunately, this makes it a difficult location to access easily. There are two main ways to drive to Rangeley from Portland: take ME4 through Farmington, or ME17 through Rumford over Height of Land. The Farmington route can be more travel-friendly because the road is better maintained and it is not as winding. Taking ME17 through Rumford is a slightly shorter drive and offers a spectacular view on the Rangeley Lakes region from the scenic overview at Height of Land (Scenic Route), but the roads are often rough and very winding from frost heaves. Easy Route 2hr 30min to 2hr 45min drive from Portland (20 minutes longer, a little boring) Get on Maine Turnpike North Exit at Exit #12, Lewiston/Auburn Take 4 North to Lewiston/Auburn Continue on 4 North about 75 miles to the town of Rangeley

Rangeley is a very popular vacation spot, particularly during the fall leaf peeping season. We recommend that you book lodging as early as possible. There are only a couple of hotels and Bed and Breakfasts in Rangeley, but there are many vacation homes and rentals in the area, making AirBnB or VRBO great options to ensure lodging close to the wedding.
