This is kind of the convention center of Columbus. It has a very cool architecture inspired statue inside plus an indoor playground that always makes me feel like I wish I was young again. Its considered the downtowns center piece so it is walking distance to all the bars, restaurants, and shops. Columbus has quite a few cool little boutiques around the downtown area. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed walking around Columbus and this is your starting point to do some good eating, drinking, and shopping.
Right next to the venue. This is where you would want to book any of the famous architecture tours Columbus has to offer. Many of which are closed to the public without a tour pass. We visited the Miller House constructed by the world famous architect Eero Saarinen. Definitely worth it as it is an amazing home. This is also the retirement home of the family that first owned the wedding grounds.
Very famous ice cream parlor in downtown Columbus. We've been once, and it is very good. the esthetic is really cool. Highly recommend.
If you've never been to Nashville Indiana then nows the time! Little Nashville as it is called, sits in the beautiful Brown County forest and is a must see. Rolling hills and fun shops. The town has a fun vibe that can only be described as tacky but classy. About 15 miles outside of Columbus and well worth a trip. Check out the Nashville house for a quick lunch. Good food at a good price.
This one is a wild one. We love Story Indiana. Its an Inn, but its actually a town turned into one big Airbnb. Every house in the VERY small town is open to rent. It also features a very good restaurant that serves high quality food. I had the filet last time and it was excellent. They also have a more pub style bar that serves more modest fair. All the vegetable are grown on site and you are free to walk the grounds as you please. On a side note, it is widely considered the most haunted town in Indiana. Don't let that scare you thou. We had one of our first dates here and Alli just celebrated her 40th birthday there as well.
Weather you're up for a hike or just want to take a nice little drive. Brown County offers some absolute beautiful landscape to discover. The drive from little Nashville to Bloomington is one of our favorite sight seeing day trips. Some amazing views. Just try to keep your eyes on the road as they can be tricky. It truly is one of the most beautiful areas of Indiana and well worth the time to explore.
