Mike and Allie met on the pool deck at Bates College in 2011. Mike was a junior, Allie a freshman, and they did not immediately hit it off. One of them was a little "too cool for school," and one of them seemed "icy." With time, this all changed. During the summer of 2012, Mike and Allie ran into each other at a few friends' parties, and discovered their shared love of good music, strong iced coffee (shoutout Zumbach's), and the Summer Olympics. When they returned to Bates that September, they picked up right where they left off that summer, and have been loving life together ever since.
As Mike and Allie were wrapping up their time together in New Hampshire, Mike proposed that they go out to a nicer-than-usual dinner. They went to a restaurant on a beautiful river in Vermont, and ate a delicious meal as the sun was setting. Allie did not suspect anything at this point, so when Mike suggested a post-dinner walk, she became a little suspicious. Mike insisted that walking over to a nearby covered bridge would be nice, so Allie agreed. The two walked to the covered bridge, admired the sunset, and talked about all the exciting adventures that lay ahead of them as they prepared their move to Seattle. When Mike asked if they might start one more new adventure together at the same time, Allie was already beaming. Mike proposed, they got engaged, and they ran to call and tell all the people they loved. Mike and Allie are SO excited to share the start of their next adventure with you.
