How We Met

A Tale of Two Apartments

It was a hot and steamy 4th of July day (and no we’re not talking about the weather!). Brad and Allie each had organized get togethers at the apartment pool to celebrate the holiday. With plenty of singles in each group, conversation struck up naturally. This was the first time Brad and Allie met, but it wouldn’t be the last… Shortly after, Brad reached out to reconnect. A double date was the best excuse. Trombone Shorty (a New Orleans’ favorite) was coming to town and Brad knew this was a great opportunity. At the concert, Brad and Allie hit it off and couldn’t wait to see each other again. Living in the same building, Allie and Brad spent many a night enjoying wine and talking for hours by the fire. Patio dinner dates turned into outings to New York that included axe throwing, trying new restaurants, and walking 30 blocks back to the train station just to have more time to talk. Before you knew it, the two were inseparable. Both loved to travel - the first big trip was to Japan! Between seeing sights, exploring temples, and checking out markets, the trip further confirmed what they already knew…they were the perfect match. A handful of months later, COVID hit. Both were working from home and spent nearly all day everyday together. Yet living and working together worked. In fact, they continued to get closer and closer. Experiencing 2020 showed that navigating life’s challenges was better together. Following a September hike to the top of Pikes Peak (14,114 ft!) where Brad almost didn’t make it (its own entertaining story), Brad and Allie were back in Colorado for the holidays. This time, little did Allie know, Brad had secretly managed to buy a ring! As Brad started professing his love to Allie (mixed in with recounts of somewhat-traumatic details of the previous hike) Allie quickly told him to “stop being so sappy.” Before she knew it, he was on one knee asking her to marry him…she said yes! We can’t wait to celebrate with you! See you in New Orleans!
