Allie is from Laie, Hawaii and Trevor is from Provo, Utah. Both of our parents attended the same college in Hawaii at the same time. Trevor spent many summers in Hawaii visiting family and even went to high school in Hawaii for a brief time. The summer his family left was the summer Allie's family moved in. We had plenty of occasions where we could have crossed paths (at church, through Trevor's cousins who are good friends with Allie, a wedding Allie attended that Trevor was a groomsman for, etc.), but the timing of when we actually met was perfect for our timeline.

We met on a blind/ setup double date. Essie Workman, Allie and Trevor's great friend set us up, and her recommendation carried a lot of weight for both of us, which is why we hit it off immediately. We went to James Gerstener's grandparents' house, made pizza, and watched tv on our first date.
