Things To Do

If you are able to take some time to explore the area around Bethesda, Silver Spring, and Washington DC, we highly encourage it. Here's just a few options that might be of interest!

Smithsonian National Zoological Park

3001 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20008

Allie loved going to the zoo as a kid! This is a great option for families because it is close to the hotels, easily accessible by metro, and free!

National Portrait Gallery

8th Street NW & G Street NW, Washington, DC 20001

The National Portrait Gallery stays open later than some of the other museums, making it a great last stop for a day of visiting the Smithsonians. Lots of good dinner options nearby as well.

Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

600 Independence Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20560

One of the most popular Smithsonian museums and reopening just before our wedding, make sure to reserve a timed-entry if you are interested in seeing this awesome exhibit.

Capital Crescent Trail

Capital Crescent Trail, Washington, DC

This trail is located near to the hotels and continues all the way to Georgetown. See the website for details about finding the trailhead in Bethesda.

Silver Branch Brewing Company

8401 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, MD 20910

One of Allie and Tim's favorite breweries in the area, check it out if you venture over to downtown Silver Spring.

Black Flag Brewing Company

9315 Snowden River Parkway, Columbia, MD 21046

Another favorite brewery of Allie and Tim's, check it out if you're heading to or from Baltimore. Fun fact, the brewery is owned by bridesmaid Rosie's cousin!
