The closest airport is Las Américas Santo Domingo (SDQ). However it is the holiday season, so you may be able to find significantly cheaper tickets to Punta Cana (PUJ) or Santiago de los Caballeros (STI) which are 2h15 and 1h50 from Santo Domingo. Let us know if you need help arranging transportation from either of these airports to the capital.
