Piedmont Park is one of ATL's gems, conveniently located within walking distance of Midtown, and right by our place. This is one of Allie's favorite places to run, and both of us love to watch the ducks and turtles at the lake. The gazebo on the lake is where Megan proposed!
Ponce is one of the prides of ATL. It has shops! Dining! Fancy trinkets! Williams Sonoma! What more could you want? We recommend walking, biking, or scootering there on the Beltline because parking can be tricky. Often, folks will walk there from Krog Street Market or Piedmont Park (also on our list). For food at Ponce, we love Botiwala for Indian Street Food and Bibi for Persian sandwiches.
We go here almost every time we drop our recycling off at the Center for Hard to Recycle Materials (Allie's favorite place). We love their Kouign-amann pastries (if you can get them in time), breakfast sandwiches, pistachio + cardamom cake, and tahini + benne seed cookies.
One of our favorite bakeries in ATL, also right by our place! We love the breakfast sandwiches, the pistachio croissants, and the almond cookies. If you're in the area Saturday morning, you can also pop by the Morningside Farmer's Market from 8am-11am.
