It was the fall of 2018... Lena had just begun working for the Hortonville Area School District, and Allie had moved to Hortonville to be closer to her job at the Hortonville Public Library. Both were new to the area and neither had explored local businesses much. Their mutual friend, Heather, who also worked for HASD, asked both Allie and Lena to Whistler's Knoll in Hortonville for bloody mary's. Allie and Lena had never met before, but both found common conversation about their time at UW - Eau Claire. As it turned out, both had attended UW - Eau Claire for an overlapping two years and attended the same events without ever having met. Talk about fate! Fast forward to 2020... Lena and Allie had remained close friends after their meeting in 2018, and were getting ready to celebrate Allie's 30th birthday in Sheboygan, WI with friends Heather and Angela. Allie noticed her feelings for Lena shifted from friendship to more as they were out dancing that weekend. When they returned from Sheboygan, Allie and Lena began hanging out more frequently and their friendship shifted to something deeper. Here we are today... getting married and celebrating love with our friends and family!
It was a beautiful, warm Thursday night... Allie and Lena had been talking about marriage and had even bought rings for each other. As a matter of fact, Lena had picked up Allie's ring that very day! When Allie suggested a brew at Lion's Tail Brewing Co. and a walk around Riverside Park in Neenah, Lena eagerly agreed and a date night was planned. Lena got down on one knee at the sculpture fountain, and Allie said YES! To Lena's surprise, Allie then got down on one knee and Lena said YES! She had no idea Allie had been carrying the ring in her pocket for the last couple hours. Allie and Lena went out to dinner after the proposals to celebrate and began excitedly talking about their wedding and their future.
