We're getting married!!

John Carl and I met sophomore year at Auburn University. We met through one of our good friends. Katie and I became very best friends freshmen year through our sorority. Katie also happened to be in the same Naval ROTC unit as John Carl. Fast forward, to sophomore year Katie and I are roommates. That October, their ROTC unit had their upcoming Navy ball so she thought John Carl and I would be perfect dates together because we both had a love for God. After I, (well really Katie) sent the first message from my phone to John Carl, we did a lot of texting back and forth, then we had our first date at Jim-N-Nicks on October 19th, 2018. Nine days later he asked me to become his girlfriend. Ever since then we have been head over heels for one another. Fast forward to July 18th, 2020 he asked me to be his wife! We are over the moon to spend the rest of our lives together!

Our proposal started off with my birthday. On my birthday John Carl and I traveled down to Auburn to see our very best friends who we have not seen since March due to COVID. I knew it was going to be such a fun weekend, but did not know what all was in store. The day after my birthday my best friend Katie and I had a girls day with lots of shopping, (Where I just so happened to find my proposal outfit!) Then the next day, July 18th, John Carl and I spent the majority of the day watching Netflix shows and movies with our friends. The I started getting ready for John Carl's and I fancy dinner date at my favorite Italian restaurant in Auburn! We both barely ate anything because I had a feeling something might possibly happen. After dinner John Carl said we were going to get "snow cones" little did I know what "snow cones" meant. We ended up in downtown Auburn walking around Samford lawn. The weather ended up being perfect for our walk. We walked all the way around Samford lawn where he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
