2012
Lewisburg, Pennsylvania
The year they started dating. Allie was a junior at Bucknell & Joe was a (super cool) senior, living in an attic in a downtown house called Red Light. After Allie spent a summer secretly running off to NY to visit Joe, (shhhh don't tell her parents) they officially started dating in August.
2013
Paris, France
Joe visited Allie during spring break right before his graduation while she was studying abroad in Copenhagen. Their love of travel was born. They spent a weekend in Paris where they put a love lock on the famous bridge and climbed up the Eiffel Tower. Allie tried unsuccessfully to get Joe to try escargot (she swears it was delicious!)
2014
Lake Mégantic, Canada
The year Allie graduated college and the year Joe stopped having to weekend commute from NJ to PA. The tables quickly turned when Allie moved back home to CT and started spending every weekend with Joe in Hoboken. Joe attended his first ever Valenti Family vacation in Canada that summer, and they still tell stories about his legendary 8 mile run to and from the lake.
2015
Brick, New Jersey
The annual shore weekend is a tradition Allie & Joe take very seriously and one that they love hosting. Joe plans all the meals to a T and bartends like a champ. Breakfast bagels from Delicious Bagels, sandwiches from Jersey Mikes, and dinner is burgers & dogs on the grill. Drinks are Velli Specials of course!
2016
Ludlow, Vermont
Joe was new to skiing when he started going on trips with Allie & her friends. What he lacked in skills at the beginning, he brought in fun. However, he quickly caught up to the group and now speeds down the mountain to Allie's pleas for him to SLOW DOWN.
2017
Malibu, California
In May 2017, Allie & Joe flew out west, rented a red convertible and drove up the Pacific Coast Highway. The plan was to start in LA and drive up to San Fran, but a mudslide washed out the road in Big Sur and diverted them inland. Meeting Stanley the Giraffe made it all worth it. Did we mention Allie left her wallet behind at Bradley Airport? Thanks Mom & Dad for overnighting it to us!
2018
New York, New York
Allie & Joe moved into their first apartment together on the UWS. It was all fun and games until Joe and his dad walked their couch all the way up to the fourth floor (they lived on the third floor). It was so fun having a place of their own, even Bella came to visit!
2019
Willemstad, Curaçao
Joe, always the more adventurous one, learned how to scuba dive first with friends Alexa & Mike. After much convincing, and let's be honest, FOMO, Allie took the plunge and joined them under the sea. They went on to dive in Thailand and the even though Allie never caught the scuba bug, the pictures were well worth it!
2020
Newport, Rhode Island
The year they got engaged! In the middle of a global pandemic! Joe took Allie on a post dinner hike to see a light house and dropped to one knee at sunset. He slipped so many hints about proposing that weekend, Allie assumed he was messing with her and it wasn't going to happen. Nope-- it was real! They facetimed their family and friends afterward and watched fireworks overlooking the bay, happiest they had ever been.
2021
Hoboken, New Jersey
Third year living together, third apartment decorated, first time renewing a lease... is this what they mean by "settling down"? Allie & Joe are enjoying some downtime from Allie's lack of classes post grad, but quickly filled it with wedding planning activities. They can't wait for their wedding weekend when they can celebrate with all their loved ones.
