Allie and Jaye met by chance through rock climbing. For Allie this was a new hobby, while Jaye was a longtime climber. Separately, they each met the same wonderful group of people who ultimately brought them together (and they still remain friends today!) Allie quickly fell for Jaye and their dance moves after a night on the town. For Jaye, it was the conversation in a hammock the next day that really drew them in. The two knew immediately that there was something special and it took mere weeks to make it official, less than a month for “I love you’s” and under a year until *the* question was asked!
People close to Allie and Jaye might describe each of them as “spontaneous”. For those people, their engagement story comes as no surprise. Allie was away for a weekend at her best friend’s new house painting kitchen cabinets. When she came home (still dressed in paint clothes, I might add), Jaye had dinner on the stove, a candle lit and a love note waiting for her. Some might call this a pre-meditated proposal, but for the forever-romantic Jaye, this was a typical Sunday. That was until Jaye surprised even themselves by getting down on one knee and saying “Allie, I want to marry you. Is this okay?!?”. It was met with a resounding “yes!”. Jaye did not have a ring yet at this point, so they were sure to leave an “I owe you” note to be redeemed at a later date. The forever spontaneous duo was planning for a “long engagement” until about six months in when they realized they simply couldn’t wait any longer and secured a date.
