FAQs

If you have any questions other than the ones we've listed, please don't hesitate to text/call Allie (518-928-0263) or Jake (832-330-3632)!
Question

What's the attire for the weekend?

Answer

Night Before Dinner: Dressy Casual. Think going to a nice-ish dinner (jeans, pants, button downs, dresses – as long as you feel good!) Wedding: Cocktail Attire. And bring a jacket just in case – the venue is outside! You may also want to bring a pair of sunglasses as the sun will be setting during the ceremony (it will never be directly in your eyes) Brunch: Whatever you want!

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We love your kids! However, if they are not listed on your invitation, we kindly ask that you make arrangements for a kid-free evening. For our out-of-town guests traveling with children, please feel free to call or text Allie at (518) 928-0263 — she’d be happy to arrange a babysitter for you (she has lots of trustworthy connections)!

Question

If I am coming from out of town do you recommend I rent a car?

Answer

No! Jake and Allie have planned the entire weekend to be in downtown Baton Rouge. The recommended hotels are ~300 ft. from the venue, 0.2 mi from the night before dinner, and 0.2 mi from the optional morning pilates.

Question

What time should I arrive to the wedding venue?

Answer

5:15 pm please – we will start promptly at 5:30 pm, and want to be sure you are seated and comfortable before then!

Question

Can I take photos and videos during the ceremony?

Answer

We have hired two incredible photographers to take pictures all night! Please keep your phones tucked away during the ceremony. Feel free to take as many pictures/videos as you'd like during the reception!

Question

I saw the yarmulkes when I walked in – do I have to wear one?

Answer

You do not! We will have extras if you choose (Jewish or not)!

Question

What kind of food and drink will be provided?

Answer

Lucky for you we will have an open bar! And a buffet-style dinner! We will also have plenty of gluten-free and some vegetarian options – please text Allie or Jake if you have other food needs so we can be sure to have something for you!

Question

Is there an after party?

Answer

Yeah girl! We will make a fun exit from the venue at 10 pm and migrate next door to Mother's Lounge to keep the party going! This is a totally informal after party – food and drinks not covered.

Question

Is the venue inside or outside?

Answer

Outside! But do not worry, it's March in Louisiana (the best weather month)! If it does rain, we will have a huge tent, and if it gets chilly, we will have heaters. (We do recommend bringing a jacket just in case)

Question

Is there a spot for me at The Night Before Dinner?

Answer

You will know when you click that RSVP link! This event is meant primarily for out-of-town guests. If you have any questions, please text or call Jake or Allie.

Question

Why is the registry so small?

Answer

Zola had very limited options, so we added a few more and is linked on the registry page as "Additional Registry!" (https://www.myregistry.com/wedding-registry/allie-diefendorf-and-jake-polansky-baton-rouge-la/4686925/giftlist)

Question

Why is the first letter of every word capitalized?

Answer

We promise we know how to write a sentence – that is all Zola's editing!
