Question

What is the best way to travel to Vancouver Island?

Answer

There are a few easy ways to get to Victoria, depending on where you’re flying from and what type of travel experience you prefer. Option 1: Fly directly into Victoria International Airport (YYJ) This is the simplest option for most guests flying from the US or Canada. Victoria International Airport (YYJ) is about a 30-minute drive from downtown Victoria, where the recommended hotels are located. Option 2: Fly into Vancouver + Seaplane to Victoria (Harbour Air) If you’re flying into Vancouver, Harbour Air offers a quick and scenic seaplane flight that takes you directly from downtown Vancouver to Victoria’s Inner Harbour. This drops you right into the heart of the city where our recommended hotels are located. Flights can start around $99 if booked early. Flight time is roughly 35 minutes. It does require more steps and time if you’re not traveling with a car. If you’re coming from downtown Vancouver: -Take the SkyTrain to Bridgeport Station -Transfer to bus 620 to the Tsawwassen Bay Ferry Terminal -Board the ferry to Swartz Bay (Vancouver Island) -Once on the island, take a bus, taxi, or Uber into downtown Victoria Schedules + pricing: https://www.bcferries.com/routes-fares/schedules
