Allie and Brandon met over five years ago at Time Out Tavern, a sports bar in Dallas. Allie was celebrating a coworker’s birthday who happened to be a Kansas State friend of Brandon’s. Because Brandon is bad with names (or because of the beer he consumed at Time Out Tavern), he jokingly called Allie “TCU” instead of her actual name, and Allie called Brandon the name of his architectural firm, Gensler, as retaliation. Needless to say, “TCU” and “Gensler” hit it off, and they went on their first date in October 2015. Both Brandon and Allie agree that their first date was far from perfect. During the peak of a wild Texas thunderstorm, Brandon picked Allie up to watch her beloved hometown basketball team, the Spurs, play from a restaurant in Dallas’s Bishop Arts District. As the rain poured, water emerged through the dash and passenger door of Brandon’s car, drenching Allie’s new Tory Burch leather boots; however, Allie’s designer shoes were not the only valuable possession ruined during their memorable date. Like a scene out of a romantic comedy, Brandon was not only pulled over but also rear-ended. While this disastrous first date is the source of much laughter today, Allie and Brandon needed to process the damage done to both boots and car for two months before they agreed to go out with each other again, this time to Brandon’s company’s Christmas party. Brandon and Allie began to hang out with one another regularly since their thunderstorm-free second date. They spent many evenings with Allie’s longtime best friend ML and her husband, Graham. As Allie and ML drank wine and danced to Beyoncé, Brandon and Graham drank whiskey by the fire and discussed Brandon’s relationship with Allie. While it was clear to everyone that Brandon and Allie had been dating for the past year, Brandon finally declared their relationship official in January 2016. Since then, this sweet couple has been inseparable, and they are looking forward to celebrating their love with you.
When Brandon asked Harry, Allie’s dad, if he could marry Allie, Harry replied with, “About damn time.” After receiving Harry’s approval, Brandon enlisted the help of friends, Christina and Lauren, to plan out the proposal. Over multiple dinner meetings, they decided the perfect place for the proposal would be during their annual ski trip in beautiful Deer Valley, Utah. Not wanting to be cliche and propose to Allie in February, Brandon decided to wait until the end of the trip and propose to her on March 2nd. The days leading up to the proposal consisted of going to multiple romantic destinations to throw Allie off, including evening drinks at her favorite hotel, The Montage, and a sleigh ride up the mountain for dinner. Little did Allie know that Brandon would creatively propose to her on the very last ski day. Before Allie, Brandon, and their group of friends went for a gondola ride, their friend Lauren pretended to forget her cell phone at home, which was not outside the realm of possibility for Lauren Cunningham. While Allie, Brandon, and Christina rode the gondola, Lauren, Whitney, and Lainey grabbed Brandon’s marriage proposal sign, which was secretly hidden in Lainey's coat, and eagerly awaited the couple to get to the top. When they did, Allie was ready to go inside of the St. Regis because it was so cold, but Christina convinced Allie to stay outside and watch the sunset, not out of character for Christina. Allie was asked what the sign said inside one of the gondolas, and she replied flatly, “Probably a fire extinguisher sign.” Upon closer look, she realized it said, “Marry Me?--B.” When she turned around, Brandon was on one knee. Of course, Allie said yes to Brandon, and the rest of the night was spent celebrating their love with friends and champagne.
