Due to some last minute changes beyond our control, we are limiting our wedding CEREMONY to family and wedding party. In lieu of attending the ceremony in person, we would like to invite you go join us via LIVE STREAM at our RECEPTION venue, Club House on Highland at 5:00pm. We will CONTINUE celebrating at the reception as originally planned! We would LOVE to see you there! We appriciate your support and understanding as we navigate this season. Love, Allie and Ben
Ben and I met at Auburn University. We are both from Birmingham and had mutual friends. When I graduated in May of 2016 and moved to New Orleans, we stayed in touch and visited each other throughout the summer. Ben asked me to be his date for his oldest sister's wedding and we officially started dating about one month later. Our first two years of dating were long distance, driving from Auburn/Birmingham to New Orleans. When I graduated from my masters program I got a job in Birmingham where Ben was living! We are still here and loving living near family and friends.
The day Ben proposed will be one I will remember forever. As most of you know, my brother is engaged and getting married this October and he just so happens to be marrying my best friend, Meagan. Meagan and I live together so keeping secrets from one another is out right impossible. Because of this, I did not think it was possible for Ben to surprise me. They both proved me wrong. Saturday morning on February 29th, Leap Day, we had wedding cake tastings lined up for Meag and Caleb. Being Meag's Maid of Honor, I felt it was important I be there! Plus free cake. After the cake tastings, Meag and her mom and me and my mom spent the remainder of the day at plant stores and antique shops. Basically making it the best day ever in my books. Little did I know, Ben, his mom and two sisters (Emily and Ashley) were back at my house setting up the most spectacular set up on our back porch. After our shopping came to an end, Meag and I headed back home. Meag smoothly dropped me off saying she was going to drop off the olive trees she bought at Caleb's house. When I opened my front door and saw Ben, it didn't even hit me what was happening! I thought he surprised me with a cheese board! I was so excited by the cheese board I didn't initially notice anything else. Once he walked me to the back porch it all came together! The back porch was decorated with sparkling lights, flowers in blue and white vases, pictures, champagne, a bible with my new name, and the ring. The ring that had once been my grandmothers, mothers and now mine. Following the proposal, we met both of our families at The Club for dinner then ended the night at our favorite bar, 41st Street Pub, with all our friends. It was truly the best day!
