After growing tired of the dating scene in Washington, DC, Andrew decided to import. Upon a trip back to Denver to visit family, he tried his luck on Bumble. Allie, who was relatively new to the Denver area, was attracted to Andrew's clean-cut photos and immediately swiped right. Witty banter ensued, including a failed attempt on Allie's part to speak French. Several days later, on Christmas Eve, they met for cocktails - a dirty martini for her, a whiskey on the rocks for him - and the rest, they say, is history.

On the return from Aspen, Allie and Andrew stopped at the top of Independence Pass on the Continental Divide. They got out to take photos, and at Andrew's request, Allie climbed to the top of a rock. When she turned around, Andrew was down on one knee, holding a ring. He didn't get to pop the question due to Allie's hysterical crying (tears of joy!), but she put the ring on, and he interpreted that as a "Yes!"
