I had been on too many strange dates from dating apps. Before each date, I would talk to my mom. My mom would be so excited and would also help me not to be nervous. After each date, my mom would call me and ask how it went. Each time, I had an unsuccessful story about a weirdo to share. Before going out with Ethan, I decided not to tell my mom about the date, because I didn't want to jinx myself into going out with another weirdo. But then, as I was pulling in to the parking lot of the Korean BBQ restaurant to meet Ethan, I started freaking out and I called my mom. "Mom pray for me I am going on a date and I am scared love you bye!" Ethan had thoughtfully asked me out to Korean BBQ for our first date, because he knew that I served my mission in Korea. I was pleasantly surprised that Ethan was so easy to talk to and charming, plus I didn't get my normal dating anxiety around him (also his cute smile! are you kidding me 😍). After the date, I group called my mom and sister and told them all about it. They said that they were excited about this guy and could tell that I felt differently about him than I had about other guys. Next thing I knew, I was b e g g i n g Ethan to go on a second date, and then he was begging me to go on a third, fourth, fifth, and sixth!

It was a day like any day and then he matched with her on his dating app. Pretty brown eyes, and a smile that could melt the sun. He tried to play it cool and be a little funny. She'd respond and flirt back. Then the moment came I had to ask her out. She said yes... but she was going on a "cruise"... in a week and she said she'd go out after she got back.... I know what you are all thinking, "this sounds like she isn't interested". But I kept texting and finally TWO WEEKS passed and she was back. I asked her out and she said yes. Turns out she really did want to go out, but that she didn't want to get sick before going and Covid was going around again. For the next 9 months we dated, we laughed, we fell in love. And the rest is history. It's a good thing I kept at it or she might have met some guy on the cruise or never messaged me back to go on our first date 😉

Ethan has a 6-year-old son named Hayden. Hayden is adorable, brilliant, and silly. We are so excited to become a family.
