Question

Parking

Answer

We have arranged a shuttle service for your convenience (check out the travel page of our website!). Street parking is available on 8th Street, 9th Street and Michigan Ave. Adjacent to St James 1868 are two paid public surface lots, the Library Lot and the Wells Fargo Lot. Please allow extra time to park and arrive at the celebration comfortably.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Because the ceremony begins promptly at 4:30 pm, we recommend you aim to arrive at least 20-30 minutes prior to the ceremony to park and take your seat.

Question

Venue

Answer

Our ceremony and reception will be held at The St. James 1868 in the Abbey space. Please note: The venue has two separate event spaces, so be sure to head to the Abbey, which is accessible through the main front entrance with the red door. There will be event staff (and friendly faces!) to help guide you.

Question

Plus Ones

Answer

To stay within our venue capacity, our celebration is strictly RSVP only. We can only accommodate the individuals listed on your invitation. Thank you for your understanding as we celebrate with a gathering of our closest family and friends.

Question

Children welcome?

Answer

While we adore your little ones, we kindly request no children. This is an ADULTS ONLY celebration.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We'd love to see our family and friends get dressed up for our big day! The dress code is formal. Suits, tuxedos, cocktail dresses, and evening gowns are all welcome as we celebrate in style.

Question

Indoors/Outdoors

Answer

All events will be held at St. James 1868. The ceremony will take place indoors, followed by a cocktail hour and hors d’oeuvres in the outdoor courtyard, weather permitting. We’ll wrap up the night with dinner and dancing indoors during the reception.

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

We are having an "unplugged ceremony" (no phones or cameras). The greatest gift you can give us is being fully present as we say "I do." We have hired a professional photographer to capture this beautiful moment for us and we promise to share our photos. Before and after the ceremony, feel free to take as many pictures and videos as you'd like!
