After 8 years of eagerly waiting, Allie and Evan are FINALLY tying the knot! These last 8 years have been full of growth and belly-laughs, and they already have memories to be cherished for a lifetime. Their story began in 5th grade (2007) when Allie moved to Evan’s school. They never OFFICIALLY met, but surely she admired his kickball skills on the playground at some point! After 5th grade, they went to different middle schools until she moved to his school AGAIN in 8th grade (2010) where they finally became friends. From 8th-10th grade their friendship grew, but on 08/18/12 (Allie’s bday) they had one long conversation at a friend's pool party and they just knew. A few weeks later on 09/08/12 Allie made the (first) best decision by saying yes to Evan when he asked her to be his girlfriend! They attended 3 homecomings, 2 proms, and finally graduated together in 2015. Their high school memories were filled with all the love and laughter that could possibly be shared as high school sweethearts. As high school came and went, they ventured into uncharted territory as they started college, but this time Evan followed her ;) Despite college being new and full of unknowns for the next few years, they grew together, not apart, and never stopped being each other's biggest fans. As they began exploring their own dreams and futures, neither of them could envision those without the other in it. As they were discovering who they were individually, they knew they were even better together. On 02/08/19 Evan took Allie to Stone Mountain, where he asked her to marry him! After saying yes to being his girlfriend in 2012, saying “yes” to becoming his wife was the next best decision she ever made. They have been BLESSED to have had these 8 years to learn so deeply about each other, and to learn how to love each other even deeper through Christ. The decision of marrying Allie Barb was one that took almost no thought for Evan. He knew from the day their relationship began that she was the one. The hardest part of this moment for him was deciding the perfect way to ask her. He felt that someone like her deserved more than anything he could ever dream of providing. After weeks of planning, he finally decided that a hike to the top of Stone Mountain would create the most beautiful scene to ask this beautiful girl to spend the rest of his life with him. Throughout the hike, Evan made sure to keep his hand in his pocket to make sure he wouldn’t drop the ring. After what felt like hours, it was finally time and Evan couldn’t have been more nervous. Once at the top, they asked a couple of hikers to take their photo in front of the most perfect view. During the photo, Evan dropped to his knee and asked Allie to marry him. She IMMEDIATELY said yes and could not stop smiling and jumping for joy on top of the mountain. The proposal can actually be heard in the live photos that the kind strangers took, and will be cherished forever. This was a moment they had waited for after all these years, and and they were overjoyed to officially begin their forever together.
