FAQs

Question

About the ceremony

Answer

We kindly ask that phones and cameras remain turned off and put away until the ceremony concludes, thank you! Our wedding will be officiated by Rabbi Jen Lader. The wedding ceremony takes place under a Chuppah, which is symbolic of the home that we are building together. It is open on all four sides, symbolizing how our home will always be open to friends and family. In loving memory of Allie's father, James Manchel, the Chuppah is decorated with some of his many neckties that he wore throughout the years. At the conclusion of the ceremony, we will shatter a glass by stepping on it together. The breaking of the glass serves as a reminder that relationships are fragile and must be protected. As the glass breaks, it is customary for guests to shout "Mazel Tov," a wish of congratulations and good luck!

Question

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

The venue will open at 4:30 and the ceremony will start promptly at 5. Again, we kindly ask that phones and cameras remain turned off and put away until the ceremony concludes.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Come dressed in formal attire :)

Question

Can I bring a guest/my kids?

Answer

Due to limited space at our venue, we are only able to accommodate those formally invited on the invitation. If you received a plus one it will be noted on the invitation in order to RSVP. We politely request no children attend the ceremony and reception. Thank you in advance for understanding.

Question

What about transportation?

Answer

There will be a valet at the venue. If you need to, you are able to leave your car there overnight and can pick it up the next day during Planterra's open hours (between 9am and 3pm) and can get an uber back to your house or the hotel. Have fun and please be responsible!
