Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We imagine 3 options for guests! It's the west, so the drives seem long, but they are scenic and easy. See travel tab for booking details! ---> Ghost Ranch: This is the wedding venue! It is 1 hr from our home in White Rock. They offer various accommodation styles. We blocked off camp sites (includes shared showers/bathrooms), Coyote (10 private rooms on the ceremony mesa), some Aspen/Poplar rooms (below the mesa by the reception area). There are dormitory style options with shared bathrooms as well as the Georgia O'Keeffe Cottage that we didn't block but may be available. Book online at: https://www.ghostranch.org/ Click on Accommodations, Enter the dates 7/5-7/6, Click on add a code , Select group/wedding, Type code: 2507ALLISO You can also call to reserve. Mention the Gordon/Wright wedding. Ask for Isaac Sauer or Priscilla 505.685.1019. Booking ends May 1! ---> Abiquiu Inn: 17 mins from wedding venue, 43 mins from our home. Each room or small house is slightly different though all rustic. 31 rooms available. The Inn has many more amenities than at Ghost Ranch if you like amenities ;) www.abiquiuinn.com (wedding code: 070524 or call and mention the Gordon/Wright wedding). Rooms will open back up to the general public June 1. We'll have scheduled shuttles to and from the wedding venue. ---> Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza, 100 Sandoval St, Santa Fe, NM 87501 for those wanting to stay at the Santa Fe Plaza. The plaza is 37 mins from our home and 75 mins to the wedding venue. We'll have scheduled shuttles to and from the wedding venue. Our block of rooms is at a discounted rate. See our TRAVEL tab for online booking or call and mention Gordon/Wright wedding. ---> White Rock: Nothing fancy, but there's a Hampton Inn & Suites 3 mins from our home in White Rock and a Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Los Alamos 12 mins away from our home for guests thinking to stay near the Friday evening Welcome Party at our home for our guests flying in. No room blocks available.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The Desert Wedding Please plan to wear desert formal aka semi-formal attire or western cocktail attire and bring warm layers as the weather can quickly change from hot/sunny afternoons to chilly evenings with thunderstorms or high winds. As this is an off-grid event with a small yet rugged hike between the ceremony and reception, please wear appropriate footwear. Heels are not recommended. Think cowboy boots and comfortable footwear. There is a driving option if needed, and we will have a few golf carts available that seat 2 each. See schedule tab for more on Desert Formal Attire!

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

We have invited some children in our family who we are close with, but if not having your children present will prevent you from attending, please reach out to us very early.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

I wish we knew! It often monsoons this time of year. It is also the high desert above 6k ft, so it tends to get a bit chilly at night despite hot day temperatures. Don’t forget a light jacket! We will have some clear umbrellas available in case it rains for the ceremony. If you already have one, feel free to bring one!

For all the days along the way
