About 10 minutes away, this barrier island sanctuary is renowned for its variety of endangered plants and animals, including rare sea turtles. Visit the education center and take in 50-foot sprays of saltwater that occur when the Atlantic breaks against the shoreline. You can also explore hiking trails and swim, snorkel, and scuba dive off the protected beach.
