This is an adults only affair. We thank you for respecting this request.
Yes! We politely request semi-formal or cocktail attire. The ceremony will be conducted outside (weather permitting) but the reception will be in an air conditioned building.
Short Answer: Probably. Long Answer: When we posed this question to the venue coordinator, she responded with, "I've never felt any bad vibes here." The venue, once used as lodging as part of a 'spa village' was originally built around 1750; George Washington then commissioned the grounds to be used as a hospital during the Revolutionary War (the first of its kind of North America) - some remains still stand on the premises. In the following century, the venue was used as an orphanage for children of Civil War soldiers. Later on, the venue was a used for fine arts and a production studio. So - if there are ghosts - they're probably Revolutionary war heroes, children of Civil War heroes, and some eccentric artists. Guess we'll find out.
The main parking lot has spaces for 50 vehicles. There is also an overflow lot across the street from the venue in a grass lot. Please be courteous and respect the reserved parking spaces for our older relatives and family. We will ensure the lots are clearly marked. And please - do not drive under the influence. Please carpool with a sober driver, get an Uber or Lyft, or make other arrangements so you can still have a fun time but keep everyone - and yourself - safe.
We respectfully request that only those who have a designated "plus one" on their invitation bring a guest.
Absolutely! We specifically chose a caterer with a lot of flexibility, so if you have any allergies or food sensitives, please clearly mark when you RSVP.
