In August 2017, our moms began teaching kindergarten together. Mrs. Claire (Cale's mom) was my mom's assistant. As new co-workers, they started sharing stories and of course began talking about their children. Mrs. Claire had told my mom that she had a single son, and it just so happened that mom told Mrs. Claire that she had a single daughter. What better idea than to try and set us up together to meet! My Mama Amy came home from school one day and was so excited. I'll never forget her face, she told me how much she loved her new assistant at school and what was even better, was that she had a single son! Mom asked If it was ok to give my number to Cale's mom to give to Cale. I told myself, "why not? I have nothing to lose and if anything I'll make a friend out of it." Two weeks later, I finally got a text from the mysterious Cale (mind you, he has NO social media.) He asked if I wanted to meet up at a local bar for a drink, and I accepted his invitation. On September 30, 2017, Cale and I finally met, but he also got to meet Mama Amy, Daddy Steve, my older brother and my sister-in-law. He didn't know what he was in for!! HAHA But Cale must have liked what he saw. After we had stayed out all night talking, Cale invited me to go to Brunch with him the next morning in Covington and the rest is history!... We are so thankful for Mama Amy and Mrs. Claire for setting us up over 2 years ago because we wouldn't be planning our wedding today!

On August 25, 2019, at six in the morning, I heard a voice calling my name. I woke up to the best and most romantic surprise ever...Flower petals and letters of what Cale loved about our relationship were all over the room, candles were lit, and Cale was on the side of the bed on a knee with a ring in his hand. He asked me to marry him, and of course I said YES!!!! Cale then told me that we had reservations for brunch at Oxlot 9 (the restaurant of our first date) with our families to celebrate. It was such a great day and one I will never forget! Cale truly is my best friend, and we cannot wait to become husband and wife on November 7!!
