We toured our venue and spoke with the owner, set our date, and began planning. We picked out food, designed cakes, even finished our reception playlist! Jillian tried on a total of two dresses, the second one was perfect. David tried a single suit on, and found the perfect one first try. We ordered rings, designed centerpieces, and spoke with our officiant. Everything was falling into place, and it was just a waiting game at this point. We grew more and more excited as the day came closer. Not long before our wedding day, the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, got a little close to home. Now, this isnt all about how our perfect wedding was “ruined” because of the virus; its much more than that. Even though this was supposed to be OUR day, there were more important things at stake. People were, and still are, losing loved ones to this virus. We didn’t want to risk it, and as much as it broke our hearts, we postponed our dream wedding. Family and friends had already flown in, and as fate would have it, Jillian’s best friend of 12 years, is ordained! Jillian and her friends sped around a town none of them knew to collect decorations and various things for this itty bitty wedding. Both our baker and florist were able to deliver their creations to our BnB that we were staying at, as they had already made them for our big day! We held a small ceremony with friends and family. Jill’s best friend wrote a heartfelt speech, celebrating our love of almost six years, and married us. It was perfect, but we had a lot of family and friends that were unable to attend. We still want to have our perfect wedding! Dancing, (too many)drinks, cake, toasts from the guests, all of it. We hope you can join us on our first anniversary, to watch us renew our vows and celebrate with us! Much love, David & Jill #happilyeverallen
