FAQs

Question

Should I be concerned about alligators on Fripp?

Answer

HELL YES! Gators are the original residents of Fripp Island. As long as you don't bother them, they won't bother you. An alligator, which can live up to 50 years or more, can run at speeds over 20 mph. But don't worry! You won't have to out run any gators on Fripp. Just run faster than your friends!

Question

What are No-See-Ums?

Answer

You'll know when you see um! No-See-Ums are tiny little flies that are so small you can hardly see them. Ergo, the name! But their bites are extremely itchy and annoying. We recommend you bring your favorite bug spray or buy one at any of the island stores.

Question

I see a lot of tourists on Fripp feeding deer. Is that permitted?

Answer

Definitely not! Don't feed any wildlife on the island. Deer suffer from malnutrition when people feed them. They get overly accustomed to humans and may become aggressive. So be a dear, and just pass the buck!
