It’s the typical “how we met” story... We grew up together, met in college, and live happily ever after. But that’s not our story. Our story spans 8 years, 3 cities, 2 families, and 1 Stanley Cup. College brought us together but it wasn’t because of the business degree or the alma matar that we shared. Neither of us knew the other during our college years. It was the annual Mizzou/Illini basketball game that our friends attended religiously. A Mizzou win led to a night out with friends, a dancing date at Laurie’s, and eventually our first official “unofficial” first date. (An official date only occurs when both people think they’re on a date). The exact sequence of events is still disputed as of the time of this writing. Shortly after we started dating, our relationship developed into the “I-70 Relationship” where we lived 250 miles apart in Kansas City and St. Louis. We did the millennial thing for 2+ years as we dated from different zip codes, and spent a majority of our time visiting the other in their respective city. While long distance can be challenging for a relationship, this distance and experience ultimately made our relationship stronger, deeper, and more meaningful. From our “unofficial” official first date, to our engagement in Napa, CA, to our life in Chicago today, we were able to create many memories along the way. Memories made all the more meaningful when you’re able to share them with the ones you love... which brings us to YOU. This wedding is a celebration of our journey together thus far, and the life we plan to make going forward. If you’re reading this, it means you’re a crucial part of the story, and we’re excited to celebrate with all of you. Come early, stay late, share stories with friends and family, dance the night away, and don’t stop until the bartender yells “LAST CALL!”
