Dan and I had our first date in January of 2020 after meeting online. During COVID we spent a lot of time together and our relationship continued growing. Over the next four years we drove every other week to see each other and scheduling dates when we could. The distance made it tricky at times, but we made it work. When Dan changed jobs, we were able to move in together. Then in July 2024, Dan proposed! We had been talking about marriage for a while by that point, but he still managed to surprise me. During a 4th of July get-together with my family, Dan brought his night vision goggles to look at the stars. After dark, he was showing them to my family. He had me put them on and grabbed the ring from his pocket. He held them in front of the goggles, but they were set for far distances and I couldn't see the ring. When I finally saw it was a ring, I turned to look at Dan and he got down on one knee. It was such a surprise and a perfect moment for us! Now we are entering into a new part of our lives and we can't wait to see where it takes us and to celebrate the transition with all of you!
