It all began with a co-ed soccer team in 2022... Justin signed up with his friend Chris and Jennifer signed up by herself looking to get out of the house and meet new people after being cooped up during Covid. By the luck of the draw, they landed on the same soccer team. There was a little chatting and flirting after games but neither one was quite sure if the interest was mutual. THREE seasons of soccer and a whole other year pass by and finally Jennifer decided to take the wheel, pushing a very long-after game conversation into texting that night about the most random topic - chariot racing in Indiana. Neither of them knew how to convert the conversation past that and the communication almost died there, but one night and a couple glasses of Chianti later, Jennifer decided this conversation wasn't over and they finally made real plans - for Jennifer to teach Justin how to play pickleball. Little did she know, Justin already knew how to play and actually schooled her during their "not a date," date. Things progressed from there as two awkward introverts would... slowly and awkwardly. They enjoyed hiking, playing sports together outside of soccer, going to concerts, and sitting on the front porch watching thunderstorms roll in like a couple of midwestern dads. Jennifer broadened Justin's food horizons - every meal was a first and soon he began loving almost everything - even broccoli! Pretty soon, Justin couldn't get enough and Jennifer had to force him to go home some nights. They soon began taking out of state trips first to Brevard, NC where they shared their love of hiking, then to Puerto Rico where they took surfing lessons, snorkeled, and ziplined through the jungle. Next they headed to Utah to explore 3 national parks and hang with Jennifer's sister, Katherine. Most recently, they took a trip to Washington state visiting Mount Rainier, Olympic, and North Cascades National Parks, where Justin decided to pop the question in the most beautiful setting... after waking up at 4am to see the sunrise at Reflection Lake in Mount Rainier National Park. And the best is yet to come!
