Sam loves diving into this 68 degree cold spring for a casual 2 mile swim in the mornings. Hannah likes to complain about how cold the water is before getting out and enjoying the sunshine. Note: They don't allow any outside food or beverage, this spot is purely to enjoy swimming and sun :) We recommend a visit before or after you hit up a local food spot!
Shots of well vodka? Check. Some drunk dude playing the drums? Check. Police officers on horseback there to keep the peace? Check. 6th Street is a must-do if you're looking to party Austin style! Click on the link below for a pretty accurate ranking of the bars from best to worst.
Rainy Street is a bunch of old houses converted into bars. It is a good place to bar hop during the day. At night, it feels more like an extension of Dirty 6th (rowdy nightlife). Competition is steep to stay in business, so click the link below to see the latest and greatest Rainey Street has to offer!
Austin's version of hiking is flat, but this is a great place to go on a "hike" and feel like you're out in nature. The trailhead is close to the wedding venue, and is also right by Zilker Park, Barton Springs Pool and Thoms Market if you're looking to make a day out of our recommendations!
Able's is decent (not great) bar food, but their view is worth the visit. You'll be right on the lake (our favorite part of Austin). If their menu isn't doing it for you, go next door to Hula Hut for some equally OK food with awesome views.
If going to a movie is a thing in September, this Alamo is a favorite. We spend many a Sunday here watching movies and eating their (surprisingly really good) food. Head next door to the Highball Bar for great music and karaoke if you're feeling feisty
We don't actually know where he lives, but if you figure it out, let us know so we can invite him to the wedding.
