Take some time to explore historic downtown Leesburg! It’s an incredibly charming, highly walkable area filled with local boutiques, antique shops, cozy coffee spots, and craft breweries. It's the perfect place to wander on Friday afternoon or Sunday morning. It is extremely close to our hotel hub—just a 3 to 5-minute drive (about 1 mile) straight down Market Street from the hotels. You could easily take a quick rideshare or a pleasant 20-minute walk if the spring weather is nice!
A cozy, hyper-local neighborhood brewery with a great relaxed vibe and a spacious outdoor beer garden. They feature a fantastic, rotating tap list ranging from crisp pilsners to rich stouts. It is incredibly convenient for a casual afternoon hang, located just a 4-minute drive (under a mile) straight down Market Street from the hotels.
Loudoun County is famously known as DC's Wine Country. Located just a short drive from Leesburg, this expansive 400-acre estate features rolling vine-covered hills and beautiful mountain views. They are known for hosting their own annual spring celebration centered around the property's cherry trees, making it a wonderful, relaxed alternative to city flower-viewing. Expect a beautiful, scenic 25 to 30-minute drive (about 17 miles) west into the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the hotels.
Another incredible stop on the local wine trail! Stone Tower offers sweeping views of Hogback Mountain and fantastic Virginia wines. Grab a tasting flight, find a spot on the outdoor terrace, and take in the beautiful spring landscape. Located just south of town, this winery is an easy 13 to 15-minute drive (around 8 miles) down US-15 South from the hotels.
This stunning 1,000-acre historic estate is the perfect place to catch early spring colors without the massive crowds of the city. While our April 10th wedding date falls right at the tail end of the regional cherry blossom window, nature operates on its own timeline! Keep an eye on local peak bloom forecasts leading up to the trip—if spring arrives a little late, you might catch the park's beautiful cherry trees and peaceful formal gardens in full, vibrant bloom. Logistically, this is a quick 10 to 14-minute drive (about 3.5 miles) northwest of the hotels.
A preserved 1800s plantation featuring a beautiful historic mansion and a 4.5-acre terraced formal garden. This property is particularly special to us because it's where we took our engagement photos! By mid-April, the grounds are bursting with early spring foliage and historic charm, making it a peaceful spot for a scenic morning stroll. This historic landmark is a straight shot down US-15 South from our hotels, taking roughly 12 to 14 minutes (7.5 miles) to reach by car.
An absolute crown jewel of Northern Virginia's natural scenery. Located along the dramatic Potomac River, this 800-acre National Park site features spectacular, roaring waterfalls, dramatic rocky gorges, and miles of beautiful hiking trails for all skill levels. If you're looking for the quintessential Washington experience, our wedding weekend aligns perfectly with the final days of the official National Cherry Blossom Festival! Because April 10th sits on the tail end of the festival timeline, the peak bloom may have passed, but nature is unpredictable. If you closely monitor the bloom watch charts as the wedding approaches, you might just time it right to catch the iconic pink petals framing the Jefferson Memorial. Driving from the Leesburg hotels takes approximately 45 to 55 minutes (about 39 miles) via the VA-267 Toll Road. Because it is the final festival weekend, city parking will be incredibly difficult. We strongly suggest driving 20 minutes to the Ashburn Metro Station instead and riding the Silver Line straight into the District!
Take a trip down the historic cobblestone streets of Georgetown. This waterfront park offers a tranquil, grassy promenade right along the Potomac River with scenic views. Located on the closer edge of Washington, D.C., this park is about a 45-minute drive (37 miles) from the Leesburg hotels via the VA-267 Toll Road.
