Ethan and I first met at Malcolm High School back in 2010. Ethan had just started 8th grade, while I was a sophomore in high school, I know what you all are thinking, he snagged an upper class-man... he did not. We said maybe two full sentences in our time at Malcolm, however, God had different plans for us. Eleven or so years later, I started working at my church and Ethan had gotten a job at the bank, low and behold, my paychecks were not directly deposited into my bank account. So, naturally, I had to take them into the bank and deposit them myself, God obviously had it all thought out, because Ethan came out of nowhere, literally, and said that, now famous line, "Hey Allea! How's it going?!" Which instantly kind of drew me in, but I was not looking for a relationship, so I shrugged it off. Eventually it became an every other week kind of thing and our conversations would get longer over time in the drive thru lanes, talking about bible studies, and things that we had going on, for example a family vacation, good thing he wasn't a stalker, because I told him where we were going and staying and for how long. Now my mother was going to the same bank, he started talking with her too, and my mom would text or call me every time she would go to the drive thru and say "Guess who I saw at the bank?" or "Ethan asked how you are," *wink wink*. I'd like to say it was my mom who brought us together in a way, because if she wouldn't have told me about his promotion and him moving to a different branch, then I wouldn't have reached out to him and congratulated him and told him that we would have to communicate via messenger now. Which turned into a coffee date, which also turned into walks to the park, to him meeting Noah for the first time and then joining us for dinner while we watched movies and even went to a few weddings together. All of those things led to him getting down on one knee and proposing, back in Malcolm, where it all began. We know God had his hand in every text, phone chat, date night and hang out session we had and we, Noah included, are so blessed to have been put back into each others lives. We cannot wait to get married and to celebrate with those closest to us!
